Choral Concert: Carmina Burana

One of the most popular choral works written in the 20th century, many say that once heard, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana can never be forgotten. It is based twenty-four of the poems found in the medieval collection. Its full Latin title translates to “Songs of Beuern: Secular songs for singers and choruses to be sung together with instruments and magic images.” The best-known movement, O Fortuna, opens and closes this scenic cantata. Featuring University Singers and the Oratorio Society performing in “The Pit” at the Memorial Gym.
