Children's Summer Reading Program at Bangor Library

Summer Reading fun, with an international flavor, continues at the Bangor Public Library "Around the World in 49 Days" lets you travel the globe right at your Library!

Mondays are craft days, and on July 7 at 10 am, a European craft will be featured.

At 2 pm on Monday, July 7, Gail Lane from the Penobscot County Cooperative Extension presents Foods of Maine a series featuring stories, crafts and healthy snacks for preschoolers celebrating Maine foods.

On Tuesday, July 8th at 10 am, Rebecca Garcia presents A Girl of Spain.

Ms. Garcia grew up in Spain and now teaches Spanish locally.

Wednesday at 9:15 am is Mother Goose Time, twenty minutes of stories rhymes, music and bounces for children 24 months and younger.

At 10 am on Wednesday, July 9, 2-5 year olds and their parents or caregivers are invited to Totally Europe, stories, games, songs and rhymes with a European focus.

On Thursday, July 10, at 10 am Eric Rector of the Monroe Cheese Studio presents Cheesey Doings, explaining how and why cheese is made and offering a chance to try some samples.

On Friday, July 11 at 10 am , the Essency Marionettes perform at the Bangor Library. Arthur Essency studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and created marionettes for the Salzburg Marionette Theatre in Austria. The performers he has created will present a European variety show, which includes dancers, a clown, a mule and an opera singer.
