Chamber Annual Dinner sets record attendance

The Bangor Region Chamber’s annual dinner sells out. This year’s dinner will host the largest number of attendees in the event’s history; with over 720 in attendance. The dinner is a celebration of the region as well as individuals and organizations that make a difference.

The Chamber will present 7 awards, three of them new. The format for the event will be different from prior years and more dynamic. All of the awards have sponsors who will be presenting the award on behalf of the Chamber. The dinner has a dinner sponsor: Oxford Networks and a reception sponsor – Rhodes Building Products. The awards and presenters are:

Dowd Award: Sister Norberta: sponsored by Merrill Merchants Bank and Downeast Toyota. Ed Clift and Ed Darling will be making the presentation. Criteria attached.

Business of the Year: Cianbro: sponsored by Hollywood slots. Amy Kenney, director of marketing and public relations will be presenting the award. Ernie Kilbride will be accepting the award on behalf of Cianbro

Public Service Award: Senator Collins: sponsored by Husson. Pres. Beardsley will be presenting the award.

Pro-Bono Award: Bion Foster: sponsored by the University of Maine. Pres. Kennedy will be presenting the award.

Non-Profit of the Year: American Folk Festival: sponsored by Rudman & Winchell. Anne-Marie Storey will be presenting on behalf of Rudman & Winchell. Maria Baeza, board chair, will be accepting for the AFF

Volunteer of the Year: Kelli Roy from Roy Associates CPA: sponsored by Healthcare Charities. Mike Crowley, vice-president, will be presenting the award.

Community Service: Peter Vigue, Cianbro: award sponsored by the City of Brewer. Mayor Manley Debeck will be presenting the award on behalf of the city.
