The Bangor salmon pool provides plenty of excitement to spring time anglers with the first catch of the season being presented to President Bush. Winter enthusiasts enjoy miles of cross country ski trails, while the region’s lakes attract those who enjoy ice fishing.
With the Bangor Auditorium and Alfond Arena 8 miles form each other this region provides the avid sporting enthusiasts with plenty of spectator sports. The Bangor Auditorium is the home to the State’s popular class B, C and D high school basket ball tournaments. These events bring thousands of fans to the area to cheer their schools on the coveted state title. The University of Maine College teams allow the region residents to follow the teams to national championship. Whether it is Maine hockey, women’s basketball or men’s baseball the teams all have a history of excellence as well as NCAA college titles.
