Workforce challenges: Maine is not alone
Over the Holidays, I was in my car listening to a conversation on public radio about workforce challenges and the factors contributing to it including the opioid crisis and the aging population. These are issues we discuss frequently with Chamber member businesses, in economic forums, with community leaders and those who represent us at the local, state and national level.
But, I was not in Maine, I was in Pennsylvania. It took me a moment to realize where I was and that Maine is not alone when it comes to these challenges.
So many states are facing the same challenges and we are all seeking solutions. As we begin 2018, the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce will be actively working to be part of the solution by providing opportunities for our members and the community to learn more and to do more to insure a bright economic future for our region and residents.
